Plot: Stage magician 'The Great Boldini' (real name Arthur Penman) makes Bernard Smith, one of his audience, disappear with his vanishing cabinet but is then unable to bring him back. Investigating, Steel steps into the cabinet and senses vibrations from the time of ancient Egypt - he is right and the cabinet conjures up a cheetah-faced Egyptian Goddess! A bolt of energy from the Goddess' ankh sets the theatre alight and in a struggle it kills Penman. Sensing that the goddess has been exchanged for Smith, Sapphire knows she must somehow get back to wherever it is that Smith has been transported - Smith's passage was triggered by his humming a tune while inside the cabinet. Smith's son knows the tune and as he and Sapphire sing it they are taken back to Egypt to free Smith. With the help of the Gods, time is set back to moments before Smith entered the cabinet - this time Steel is on hand to warn him not to hum his tune.
Comments: Good to see more death and destruction as matters spiral out of control in part three. Ranson's artwork is finely detailed again after a few weeks of more quickly achieved work.
