| Sapphire and Steel
made six cover appearances between 1979 and 1981 (as well
as a cameo on the cover of the 1980 annual). |

| Issue
29 1979 saw a 4-page centre spread to launch the
series on TV. The cover was by John Geary (yes, he was
a Target Doctor Who books
artist around 1980). |
|
Issue
33 1979 saw a split cover with Mork and Mindy drawn by regular cover artist
Arnaldo Putzu. This marked the beginning of the Sapphire
and Steel strip. |
|
Regular montage covers featured
the entire cast of picture strip stars and
issue 39 1979 included Sapphire
and Steel among such luminaries as Benny Hill and
Timmy the dog |

| Sapphire and Steel
share the limelight with Charlie's
Angels on the front of issue
4 1980. Note that Putzu has drawn Sapphire with
a purple dress instead of her trademark blue. |

Another montage for
issue 14 1980 and Sapphire's in a fetching salmon
outfit this time. |

The twosome are back in another montage
(and Sapphire in jade) for issue 46 1980 - note the looming
central figure of main man Buck Rogers |
