BOOK TWENTY-FIVE
Published 1989
BP Team:
Mark Curry, Caron Keating, Yvette Fielding and John Leslie. There's a John Leslie Data File which reveals his best film ever is Top Gun, he likes Brookside and Aztec Camera and wants to fufil the ambitions of wrestling crocodiles in Australia and playing in goals for Scotland. And he drives a silver Audi coupe, fact fans.
Cover: In our opinion there's been a mistake at the printers as the back cover features a lovely, lovely picture of Caron wearing the winning entry of the Caron's Clothes Competition, whilst the front cover has Yvette and Bonnie.

Features: Ice Climb - in which Caron heads up Ben Nevis in the ice and snow ("Go on - you're loving it really" says her companion Stephen)... 'Good Luck Jet' sees a BP pony join the Riding for the Disabled group... Green Peter in which the doesn't-look-quite-right enviromental badge is launched; "We've had masses of letters saying 'I've persuaded my mum to switch to unleaded petrol'"... 'Channel Champ' in which a rather disturbing picture of a greased up 11 year old boy is featured as he's youngest person to swim the English Channel... 'Run For It' about the National Children's Fun Run... 'Aslan the Great', a nice feature on the BBC's Chronicles of Narnia... Hurry Up Poppy on guide dogs... Yvette and Caron join in some Tug of War... Expedition USA - the annual expedition heads stateside and pick up the lingo - "You bet man, stay cool!"... George the tortoise goes missing after bungling thieves leave his pen open - don't worry, they found him! ... John wins his badge by swinging from a bridge... A Brontosaurus heads down the M4 from Scunthorpe (nowadays of course they'd just upload a BBC CGI thingy down an ISDN line)... Mark gets tied to a windmill and goes for a spin... A feature on the thousands of birds who died to provide feathers for hats - illustrated by a picture of Caron wearing such a hat... John finds out if Robin Hood actually existed... The team revisit Cambodia, now Kampuchea, for the appeal... More Caron fashion as 69,928 would-be designers compete to create an outfit for TV's trendiest lady (it says here). On the show, the BBC technicians use CSO to stick Caron's face onto the drawings... Bonnie's brothers and sisters become guide dogs.

Makes: Carboard ties and bow ties add to BP's 80s fashion trend setting.
Beastie Boxes, surely one of the least impressive makes ever - cardboard boxes covered in wool with 'scary' faces.
Special Apple Sponge for diabetics.

Historical Figure's Life Story in Pictures: None, though we do get a feature on all the Princess Beatrices using archive photos. Perhaps it's lucky we weren't treated to an illustrated Fergie.
Stories: Not in here, sorry. No.

Notes: Published by Ringpress Books in association with BBC TV. Once again no danger of snipped off price labels as the price (£3.99 new to you sir) is printed on the back. Without a doubt one of the hardest books to come across, would set you back a few pounds from a fair dealer if you could find it.
